Mediaeval Baebes embark on their 30th Anniversary Tour, celebrating three decades of darkly beautiful, time-travelling song.

The genre-defying, classical chart topping vocal ensemble was conceptualised and formed in 1996 by musical director and composer Katharine Blake when she and a group of friends broke into Abney Park Cemetery at midnight to sing madrigals. The group have released 12 studio albums and won an Ivor Novello Award for their performance on the BBC serialisation “The Virgin Queen”. They have also received two Emmy nominations and a Royal Television Society award as the featured artist alongside composer Martin Phipps for the theme tune of ITV’s hit TV show “Victoria”. 

This year’s performance draws deeply from their latest album The Spinning Wheel, a richly woven collection of twelve songs for the twelve months,

From frost-bright winter laments to the heat-hazed longing of high summer, ancient texts and new melodies intertwine in a concert rich with ritual, romance, and time-honoured enchantment.
